1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing which take effect on 1st January 2017, the special regulations of Australian Sailing and the class rules of the International A-Division Catamaran Association (IACA), except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions.
2. ADVERTISING
2.1
The Regatta is classified as a category "C" event
2.2
The forward 25% of the hull is reserved by the Regatta Organising Authority for display of advertising by event sponsor(s). Boats intending to carry advertising should provide details of their sponsors on the entry form. Entrants will be advised if they are in conflict with the event sponsor(s). Tobacco advertising shall not be permitted.
3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY
3.1
The regatta is open to members of the AIADCA who are members of a Club affiliated to an MYA and a member of Australian Sailing. Eligible members may enter via the online entry system found at www.vincentiasailingclub.com.au
3.2
President’s Cup. Competitors are eligible for the President’s Cup category if their boat is NOT equipped with foiling centerboards.
3.3
Entries shall be made by close of Registration time on 27th October 2018 accompanied by a current Measurement Certificate (if AIADCA ID Numbers are not attached to mast, sail and hull).
4. FEES
4.1
An Entry Fee of $120 shall be payable before the 22nd October 2018.
4.2
A late entry fee of $170 will apply from 23rd October 2018.
4.3
Competitors are required to confirm their sail number at registration.
Registration fees include Regatta mementos and tickets to presentation dinner for each competitor.

6. MEASUREMENT
6.1
Competitors with a current measurement certificate and conforming measurement sticker may enter those numbers on the attached entry form.
6.2
Equipment inspection and weighing of boats may take place in accordance with A Class championship rules.
6.3
The Measurer may spot check boats at any time during the Regatta.
6.4
New sails, boats, and equipment must be measured before arriving at the Championship. A measurement fee will apply as per A Class guidelines.
Facilities will not be available at the venue to undertake Fundamental Measurement.
6.5
The Measurer may spot check boats at any time during the Regatta.
A boat notified of inspection shall follow the instructions of the Measurers.
Boats failing to measure in accordance with the rules will be scored DSQ from all races prior.
6.6
The IACA weight restriction of 75kgs minimum all up boat weight shall apply. It is the skipper’s responsibility to ensure their boat meets the weight restriction and is correctly weighed. Weighing facilities will be available at the event.
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available online one week before the regatta. A Limited number of printed copies may be available from Vincentia Sailing Club at Registration
8. VENUE
The event will be conducted by Vincentia Sailing Club. The Regatta will be sailed on the waters of Jervis Bay.
9. THE COURSE
The Course and Course area will be as described in the Sailing Instructions.
10. PENALTY SYSTEM
Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
11. SCORING
11.1
Up to 9 races are scheduled of which 1 race is required to be completed to constitute a series.
11.2
The Low Point Scoring as per RRS Appendix A4 will apply.
11.3
When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
11.4
When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
12. PRIZES
12.1
Prizes will be awarded for the first 3 places overall.
12.2
Prizes will also be awarded for the first place in the President’s Cup division.
12.3
Age division trophies may also be awarded to the highest placed sailor in each of the Junior (under 25), Masters (45-50), Grand Masters (51-55), Great Grand Masters (56-64) and Super Grand Masters (65 years and above) divisions. Prizes will be awarded as deemed appropriate by the organising committee.
12.4
Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the AIADCA.
13. SAFETY
13.1
Appropriate approved buoyancy aids shall be worn in accordance with Australian Sailing Special Regulation Part 2.
13.2
No races shall be started or continued if the average wind (measured over the previous 15 minutes) is less than 5 knots nor more than 22 knots. The Race Committee will also take into account the wave conditions to ensure safe sailing conditions.
14. RADIO COMMUNICATION
14.1
Radio transmitters, radio receivers, portable phones and similar devices may be carried but shall only be used in relation to emergencies.
15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organising Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
16. INSURANCE
All boats shall have third party insurance cover of not less than AU$5,000.000 (AU$10,000,000 recommended). All competitors MUST provide proof of insurance to be eligible to compete.
17. BOAT & TRAILER STORAGE, CAR PARKING
Car and Boat and trailer storage is available within the club grounds. Car Parking is adjacent to the club.
18. CANTEEN & BAR
The Club Canteen will operate during the regatta. Lunch orders (rolls, sandwiches) can be ordered and paid for before first race of the day and be available for collection prior to racing. The Club Bar will operate during the regatta.
19. ACCOMMODATION
Vincentia Sailing Club is located on the shores of Jervis Bay, NSW. Various forms of accommodation are available throughout the region. These range from local camping grounds and caravan parks to guest houses and motels.
