In years gone by, the Vincentia Sailing Club has held an annual camping weekend as a way to bring the VSC Family together for a a few days of fun, games and plenty of sailing! In the past, we’ve been to Bendalong point where Jeremy would bring along his “fanciest cask-wine”. Sometimes it was down at One Tree Point on the Basin, where digging a hole far away from camp was regular practice. These were the days when the Grom Squad consisted of the Butlers, McKenzies, Eastments and more.
Coming up this February, the NSW Hobie Cat State Championships are taking place at the Great Lakes Sailing Club, situated in the Middle of Booti Booti National Park, 15mins south of Forster. This will be over the weekend of 21st-23rd February 2025.
For the first time, Dragoons AND Hobie Waves are included in the State Championship, providing the option for absolutely everyone to get out on the water!
Great Lakes Sailing club is a prime camping destination, and includes full facilities right on the shoreline of Wallis Lake. With shallow water spanning for hundreds of metres, it is perfect for younger children to swim and play, whilst the big kids are out on the water sailing.
The camping fee is included upon entry to the State Championships, along with dinner on Saturday evening.
With such a perfect location on an ideal weekend, we thought it would be rude not to head north for the weekend.
