It’s the first weekend back to regular Sunday sailing here at the VSC and we couldn’t be more excited!

The season opener will be the first of our Double-Handed Club Championship series. The brain-child of Vice-Commodore James Rhodes, the wordsmith Pat Butler and a splendid pot of tea, this is a new and improved format to our yearly Club Championship that provides the Single-Handed and Double-Handed classes of sailing craft with individual series. The idea is to provide each of our club members with a opportunity to race their single-handed (Hobie 14) and their double-handed (Hobie 16, Hobie 18, F18, Nacra etc.) on designated weekends.

NOTE: All classes of sail boat are welcome, but double-handed crafts are encouraged.

We are very excited to announce that the Hobie Waves will be on the beach available to sail for all members of the club! Additionally, the Hobie Getaway will be on the beach and rigged if you’re looking for a more relaxed sail around the Bay.

Current weather conditions are looking blissful for Saturday with a Nor-Easterly building in the morning, whereas Sunday is looking to a little more on the wet’n’wild side of things with a 15-20knot southerly buster on the cards, so make sure you bring your wetsuit. A detailed weather report can be found at:

As per out constitution all sailors racing must be signed up for our yearly membership. This can be found on our website:

For the foreseeable future there will be no canteen running out of the club, so BYO food & drinks.

We hope to see you all there!
