Friday Twilight WaveGP
The second round of the WaveGP Twilight series kicked off in tricky conditions, with a shifty and variable south-westerly blowing over the hill. Seven races were held in total with 14 athletes racing on the five boats on the water.
A huge thank you to everyone who chipped in over the afternoon in rigging up, moving boats, shuffling on Tuffy and most importantly, cheering on all the sailors from shore!
MB won the day with a perfect score of 30. Paddy was only one point behind with Macca the same finishing with the same margin in third. Check out the full results on the website.
Thanks to the amazing sponsors who have provided this opportunity to the VSC and Jervis Bay sailing community.

Sunday Spring Handicap & Double-Handed Championship
It was a beautiful morning at the VSC, coming off the back of a very rainy day prior. With a light sou’easterly on the forecast, the fleet raised their sails and then went and put the kettle on.
While we waited, Paddy, Bridget, & Euan sped off on Poly to retrieve Kiaran’s H14 from its temporary home at Callala Beach. After punching through the shorebreak, it was full throttle with the 14 under tow the whole way back.

The lack of breeze and subsequent enthusiasm kept the team on the shore for an early lunch, and this week we’re shouting out Angela for her delicious salads and Steve for his perfectly cooked sausages! Steve’s briefing followed, with instructions for a standard course and to get out on the water ASAP!
Once the fleet did actually made it to the water, it was a very hasty retreat back to the sand when we caught the edge of a storm passing over.
Finally, we were off! We had 7 x H14s and Matt single-handed on the H16, and racing in the Double-Handed Championship, we had Paddy & Bridg on the H16, Kiaran & Syd on the fresh H18, and Egbert & Helen on the Nacra 5.8.

Only two races were held in the south-easterly before it swung a full 90degrees round to the south-west as it pumped through at over 20 knots. Paddy & Bridg took out the two races on handicap, sailing the H16 to its full potential. Joel & River sailed valiantly and with pride, finishing both races cleanly and without a capsize; however, the same couldn’t be said for Euan or Doug on the H14s…
This coming Friday we have the third round of the WaveGP Twilight Series. With the leaderboard incredibly close on points all across the leaderboard, this Friday will be critical before the three week break.
