With racing scheduled to start by 11:30, there wasn’t much wind to begin with. A postponement was called while James headed out to set the top mark for the predicted nor’easter. By midday, the breeze began to fill in, and those keen to race headed out as the nor’easter built rapidly.

In the first race, Dobbo showed his Wave skills, taking an early lead with Dave and Doug chasing close behind, and Joel and River not far off the pace.

Race 2 began in a freshening nor’easter, with Joel and River proving they could handle anything the bay threw at them. The pair showed great resilience in the 18–20 knots of breeze across the course.

By Race 3, the nor’easter had settled into a solid 20 knots, making for a fast and exciting final race. Dave took the win in under eight minutes!

A big thank you to Stephanie and Torben for the amazing salads that went perfectly with the BBQ — they definitely hit the spot. With the wind continuing to strengthen, the decision was made to stay warm on the beach, enjoy another sausage, and share a few laughs.

Thank you also to James and Elliot for their assistance on the start boat. All in all, it was another great day of sailing at the VSC!
