A very relaxed morning into a very relaxed day! Sometimes, this is what sailing is all about.

With 6 14s, 2 18s, 2 16s, and a Dragoon waiting on the beach for the sou’easter to fill in a little more, we BBQ’d away and soaked up the sunshine.

Once Macca & Ian got too bored, they got Poly in the water, and away we went! With a perfect course set up, it was Mama Duck Dobbo first across in the start, with ducklings Adrian, Marc, Bridget, and Doug right behind him. The double-handers were pretty tight, with Court & Paddy going head-to-head with Liana & MB. Kiaran was giving his green crew Kai a taste of the 18, and this looks like a very promising duo. Krzysztof & Joanna, with kids in tow, were getting smoothly around the course, and Joel & River on the Dragoon were the envy of the day with their spinnaker.

The races all unfolded quite similarly – a good start, having your battens the right way on the downwind, giving people buoy room – just the usual. Adrian got 2 1sts on handicap for the day, Jake had 2/2/3, Liana & MB had a 1, and Dobbo remembered how to tack! Court had an excellent couple of races on the helm before she switched out with Rennie, who ended up the crew for PB.

Tuesday’s Grom Squad session saw River & Paddy rescue a member of the public whose boat capsized – a big shoutout to those two! Tuesday was also a gorgeous NE, so Spinelli, Court, Fionnbarr, & Bridget took the opportunity to do a Callala run, while Kai kept finding his feet solo on the wave.
